Rev. Ryan McGough
Ryan grew up in Brandon, Mississippi, and graduated from Brandon High School in 2004.
Soon after, Ryan was called into ministry and began as an intern at his home church
Crossgates UMC. While working towards his undergrad at Jackson State University,
receiving his bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Ryan served as the youth pastor
at Broadmeadow UMC. After Jackson State, Ryan moved north and attended Memphis
Theological Seminary, where he received his Master of Divinity. While in seminary, he also
served at Minor Memorial UMC in Walls, MS. Upon completing seminary, Ryan was
appointed to Philadelphia, MS, where he served as Associate Pastor over Youth and Family
Ministries. In 2021 Ryan was ordained by the Mississippi Annual Conference and was
appointed to serve at Pearl UMC and Independence UMC. Ryan is coming to us from Pearl
UMC and will continue serving Independence.
Ryan is a lifelong United Methodist with deep roots in the Mississippi Annual Conference.
His father is a UMC Pastor, and his mother works at the Conference Office. Ryan’s
wonderful wife, Anna, is the children’s pastor at St Marks UMC in Brandon, where they live
with their wonderful dog, Rory.
Ryan’s passion in ministry is to help grow the Kingdom of God, as he seeks to serve God
and God’s people as he lives out the Greatest Commandment of Love God and Love
Everyone else.
